MEDUSA RANDO-TRAIL 1

The Medusa Deka Rando-Trail has been designed as an answer to the needs of the modern adventure cyclist, ticking boxes that off-the-peg touring, gravel and mountain bike frames often struggle to tick. Aspects of a sporty geometry are blended with comfort inspiring features, making for a well-handling ride, even when loaded up with bikepacking equipment. 

Short chainstays enable a bike that climbs exceptionally well - even on loose or wet surfaces - while a touring bike specific fork trail and low bottom bracket provide stability on rough terrain and optimal handling for long days in the saddle. To keep the back end short, a raised driveside chainstay design has been employed, meaning the need for a traditional machined yoke can be foregone. This improves stiffness and keeps the weight down. Further stiffness in the rear triangle is achieved through the use of an ‘over and under’ non-driveside chainstay configuration which attaches to the seat stay. This helps to reduce the torsion generated when braking hard, especially when riding loaded up with gear. Additionally, a ‘triple triangle’ design attaching the seatstays to the toptube increases stiffness in the rear triangle. All these features combined with boost rear axle spacing make for responsive and efficient ride characteristics, ideal when combined with 29er rims which are naturally a more flexible rim size. 

Reynolds 853 tubing has been carefully selected as the tubing of choice for the Medusa Deka Rando-Trail. Its stiffness and weight is ideal, making for a bike that remains responsive and stable when loaded up and will also soak up the punishment of day to day rough use. 

The Deka Rando-Trail frame front triangle comes with mounts for a custom frame bag as standard, plus the added touch of fully internally routed dynamo lighting cables through stainless guide tubes for ease of maintenance. Medusa collaborates closely with French textile extraordinaire, Cours S’il Pleut, who is known for producing bespoke outdoor and cycling focused luggage and clothing solutions to the highest quality. Their designs are inspired and developed by countless hands-on days on the front line of nature and in the depths of wilderness. The Deka Rando-Trail coupled with a custom CSP bag set becomes the ultimate tool of exploration.

Bespoke sizing is offered with all Medusa framesets and all builds are open to any custom requirements regarding braze-ons/mounting points and, of course, the paint job.
